Maisen started a Grateful Dead themed back piece for our good friend and tattooer Zak Penny. Zak is also lucky enough to wear a flaming leopard on the back of his head/neck from Oliver.
The guest artists keep on rolling through MTCo. William Brown popped down from Sydney to work for a few days. Will started tattooing Maisen’s side up at Tattoo Rosies last year and was able to finish it off on this visit.
Coolness fills the air. Scarves and sweaters everywhere. Autumn weather is here and so are our maroon MTCo shop t-shirts!
Last week we had the pleasure of having Gōshū Dan visit and guest with us at MTCo. Dan owns and works up at Bad News Tattoo in Yamba, NSW. Keep your eyes peeled to our instagram feed for information on Dan’s next visit later in the year.
A couple of critters for James by Doc Wilson. For bookings with Doc, call the shop on 03 9602 2555 or send Doc an email.
Courage, above all things, is the first quality of a warrior. Zoe added a pinup to Michael’s great collection of tattoos.
Anita picked off the wall and added a new fish friend to her forearm. Healed strawberry tattoo and koi tattooed by Slippery Tom.
Last week we said farewell to one of the original members of Melbourne Tattoo Company, Fergus Simms - whose hard work and dedication have earned him a coveted position at Smith Street Tattoo. A dream come true, to say the least.
We want to acknowledge Fergus’ impact on our shop’s success - we can’t imagine the last 9 years without him. An absolute honour and a pleasure. On behalf of the whole crew, we wish you all the best!
Oliver had the pleasure of adding the final touches to Greg’s bodysuit. The uncomfortable armpit was one of Greg’s last spots to fill. But Greg sat like a rock (as always) and walked away with a pit skull!
We’re very happy to announce the arrival of MTCo’s newest artist Doc Wilson. For appointments email, send a DM or call the shop on 03 9602 2555.
Fergus had the honour of tattooing a spooky tree on the great Jack Jourard. Jack makes delicious food out of the cafe downstairs; Captains of Industry Jack is also very handy with a video camera and great on a skateboard.
We begin the year without one of our oldest employees and friends. Rol has been working with MTCo since the early days. Taking care of the front desk and documenting the ins and outs of the shop with his trusty camera, he created a consistent visual narrative with his photos that helped document MTCo and help it grow. We wish Rol and his young family all the best for the future!
What better way to stuff those Christmas stockings than with a 6 pack sticker set from our very own Benny McDowall. Available HERE in the merchandise store along side the matching shirt HERE.
Merry Christmas!
Bianca came in to the shop to visit her old work mate Jake. She had her other knee tattooed by Jake at their old shop and dropped by MTCo to complete the set!
Tuesday this week marked MTCo’s 9th Anniversary! A big thank you to everyone that has visited and supported our shop. We’re looking forward to many more years to come!
